Camplete
A trip planner for camping — checklists, weather, maps, and photos in one place.
I love camping. Every trip involves the same ritual — a group chat, a shared notes doc, a packing list that's half-complete, and someone inevitably forgetting something. So I built Camplete, a camping trip planner to keep everything in one place.
THE IDEA
The core problem: camping trips involve a lot of coordination. We were doing all of this across different apps and it was messy.
You need to know:
- ① The campsite
- ② The dates
- ③ What to bring
- ④ Who's bringing what
- ⑤ Where to meet
Camplete is one page per trip. Everything lives there — the packing checklist, the campsite info, the weather, a map, notes, and photos after the trip is done.
DASHBOARD
The dashboard shows all your trips split into upcoming and past. Each card shows the campground, dates, how many items are on your packing list, and whether you're the host or a guest. You can sort, search and filter.

DEFAULT GEAR CHECKLIST
Before you create a trip, I recommend setting up your personal default gear checklist. Add all the gear you bring on every trip and it will automatically be added to any new trip you create.

|
NEW TRIP
Creating a trip is simple — trip name, dates, and optionally a campsite. The campsite search pulls from Recreation.gov and California State Parks, so you can find the actual campground and link to the website. You can also add a site number and notes upfront.

|
TRIP
Every trip has a unique 5×5 pixel icon to help you identify it at a glance. The trip page is where it all comes together — here's a breakdown of each section.

|
Edit — Update the trip name, campsite, notes, start date, and end date.

|
Members — Invite trip guests by sharing a link or entering their email.

|
Share — Generates a read-only link you can share with anyone who should be able to view but not edit.

|
Gear Checklist — Broken into categories: Gear, Food, Clothing, and Others. You can add items and check them off as you pack. When someone checks an item, their name appears next to it — meaning they're bringing it. Only the host or the guest who added an item can delete it.

|
Campsite — Shows the site number, a link to the campsite info page, a 7-day weather forecast, a Mapbox map of the campground and a directions link that opens in Google or Apple Maps.

|
Notes — Editable by the host only. If the notes field is empty, the section is hidden from view.
|
Photo Album — Anyone on the trip can upload photos, and only the host or the guest who uploaded a photo can delete it. The prep and the memories — all in the same place.

WHAT'S NEXT
Still a work in progress — there are probably bugs, and there's a lot I still want to add. But it works well enough that we've been using it, and I'll keep chipping away at it.
