3 Days in Venice — September 2026

My Venice trip from 9/14/2026 - 9/16/2026

Venice was the last stop of my whole Europe trip, timed to catch the Art Biennale before it closes in November. I came in on a late train to Venezia-Mestre on the 14th and flew out early on the 16th, leaving just one full day — spent entirely on foot, cutting through alleys and crossing bridges just to see where they led.

Negozio Olivetti

A typewriter showroom on Piazza San Marco, designed by Carlo Scarpa for Olivetti in 1958. It's now run by FAI, and there was a small exhibition inside when I visited.

Marinaressa Gardens

A public garden near the Giardini that becomes an open-air sculpture show during each Biennale. The pieces are scattered among the trees, so you stumble onto them as you walk.

La Biennale di Venezia

The main event of the trip. This was the 61st International Art Exhibition, running May through November across the Giardini, the Arsenale, and dozens of collateral venues scattered through the city.

Venice Biennale

The map of the main exhibition, split across two sites — the Giardini and the Arsenale. It's huge, and with only one day I tried to cover as much as I could. Expect some serious art fatigue by the end.

I dropped all these spots into a list below — it also has a few places I didn't get a chance to check out this time, so take a look if you want to visit them yourself.

Thanks for following along through all the Europe blogs. It was my first time in Europe, and I'm really glad I made the trip. Averaging 25K steps a day was no joke, but I came home with so many good memories — the places, the food, the people, everything in between. Hoping to explore more cities soon.

Ciao, Venezia. Bye, Europe! ◡̈
